SPIER CONTEMPORARY WINNERS’ TOUR IN DURBAN

 

The Africa Centre presents the Spier Contemporary 2010, South Africa’s largest biennale of contemporary art. The full Exhibition welcomed over 20,000 visitors to the Cape Town City Hall from March to May 2010. The awarded artworks from the full exhibition will tour South Africa until the end of 2010. The Spier Contemporary Winners’ Tour will open in Durban at the KZNSA Gallery, 166 Bulwer Road, on the 27th July 2010. The Winners’ Tour was in Port Elizabeth for the duration of the World Cup. After Durban, it will move to the North West University Sanlam Auditorium Foyer in Potchefstroom (27th Sept – 2nd Oct 2010) and then onto the Polokwane Museum in Limpopo from the 8th November to the 3rd December 2010. www.spiercontemporary.co.za

Pan African Space Station Cyber-Radio Simulcast Feed

 

Dedicated to being at the cutting-edge of innovation in the delivery of Africa’s contemporary music, PASS Radio a unique freeform radio station will deliver 30 days of cutting edge music streamed live online from 12 September to 12 October 2010. This year the station will present a month-long cyber-radio simulcast feed from both Cape Town, South Africa and Limbe, Cameroon. The feeds will feature live-sessions, curated sessions, DJs and artists. The radio will launch on the 12th September with a 24-hour praise party for Steve Biko. www.panafricanspacestation.org.za
